Winners and a P.I. Contest

Congratulations to the winners of the Women Who Kill contest. Jaydee D. of Herniston, OR won Jeanne Matthews' Bones of Contention. Sophie Littlefield's A Bad Day for Pretty will go to B. Richards of Glendale, AZ. Patricia J. from San Francisco, CA won Zoe Sharp's Killer Instinct, and Barbara G. from Brea, CA won A Cast-Off Coven by Juliet Blackwell. The books will go out in the mail tomorrow.

This week, I'm offering two of the most enjoyable books I've read this year, featuring private investigators. You don't need to have read Barbara Fister's first book (I haven't) to appreciate Through the Cracks. A notorious rapist's sentence has been overturned, and twenty years later the victim hires P.I. Anni Koskinen to find the man who really raped her. But, Anni's investigation reveals that a serial rapist might still be at work, something the Chicago police and political powers want to ignore.

Random Violence is the debut mystery by Jassy Mackenzie. P.I. Jade de Jong returns home to South Africa, after a ten year absence after the death of her father. Johannesburg is even more violent than she remembers, but she's returned with a scheme. When she helps a police officer, her father's former assistant, with a car-jacking case, she uncovers a pattern, a series of crimes that lead back to her father's death.

Do you want to win Through the Cracks or Random Violence? You can enter to win both books if you'd like, but I need separate entries for each. If you'd like to win one, email me at Email me!. If that link doesn't work for you, the email address is: lholstine@yahoo.com. Your subject line should read either, "Win Through the Cracks," or "Win Random Violence." Your message should include your mailing address. Entrants only in the U.S., please.

The contest will end Thursday, July 8 at 6 p.m. PT. The winners will be selected by random number generator. The winners will be notified, and the books will go out in the mail on Friday. Good luck!
